9. Realm of All

Chapter Nine: Raven

We arrived in Smith Falls early one May morning. We crashed at a motel for a few hours. The only reason we went to sleep was hoping for a dream to tell us where to find the Realm in Smith Falls. But neither of us had a dream. I sat there, watching the news when the screen went blank and the words Niagara Falls scrolled across the screen.

 

"JJ, I think I know where we should go now." I said turning my head to him but keeping my eyes on the words.

He came in the room and looked at the tv.

" Woe, cool."

 

We checked out and got a map to Niagara Falls. It wasn't to far from where we were. As we got closer I got butterflies in my stomach. I hope it's there. I don't know what to do if it isn't.

 

" This whole thing better be real." JJ says gripping the steering wheel.

 

I reached over and placed my hand overtop his. " It is real JJ."

 

JJ and I got out of the car and looked at the falls. It was so beautiful. We walked down on the rocks near the water and looked around. I assumed it would be hidden under the water fall. We went behind the waterfall and all we saw was rocks. I didn't lose hope then.

 

 

I walked along the rocks, pushing on them. When I got to the middle there was an enscription on one of them.

 

Only the Chosen One can open the Realm of All

 

I read aloud. I looked at JJ and he looked at me. I placed my hand on the space below the words and closed my eyes. Wishing for the Realm to open. Slowly, the rock with the enscription began to shake, then it moved to the left.

 

Before us stood a golden arch. We cautiously walked through it. There was a beautiful white and gold carpet laying there. And at the end stood a very beautiful woman. As we got closer, I saw that it was my mother.

 

" You have done well Raven." She said with a smile

 

" Will you tell us what we want to know now?" I ask hopefully

 

She nodded. " What you are about to hear will sound crazy to you. But I assure you it's real and you are not dreaming."

 

I glance at JJ. He has a stone face on.

 

" Tell us." I demand

 

" We are not from the 21st Century. We are from the 13th Century. I brought you to this century to keep you safe from those who seek your powers. As are you Jessie-Jasper."

 

I froze. Is she serious? This has gotta be a prank! Right?

 

" It's no prank Raven. Like I said. It's real." Omigosh, she just read my mind!?

 

" You were born to me in the 13th Century and I knew you wouldn't be safe so I used all my magic and life to bring you to the future era. And now, you and Jessie-Jasper must go back. Our home is in grave danger."

 

JJ held up his hand and she paused. " So what your saying is you want me to take Raven from THIS grave place, just to put him in MORE danger?!" He asks in utter disbelief

 

She shakes her head. " No. He will be safer there than he is here. The Dark Ones who have been after you forgot that they do not know how to get back through the gateway and will die off soon."

 

" Please Raven. You and Jessie-Jasper must rescue us! It is where you truley belong."

 

I nod. " We have to JJ. It's both of our true home." I say to him

 

JJ looks at me as if i'm crazy. " But Raven...-"

 

I turn to him, determine in my eyes. " Remember that one time when you asked me what I thought my destiny was?" He nodded slowly " Well this is it. This is both of our destinies." I take his hands and wait for him to answer.

 

 

 

" Alright. Let's do it." He replied finally and I smiled and turned back to my mother.

 

She holds her hand over us and a whirl of wind surrounds us and picks us up and bright lights flash around us as we leave the ground. When I open my eyes I see beautiful land.

 

" Wow..." Is all I can manage to say.

This is so amazing! Its unworldly! And this is where my new life will begin!
