Despair and regret

Despair and regret

A Poem by Diamond_Perfect
"

This is an abstract dialogue between the feelings of despair and regret. It shows what those emotions mean when people start to feel them.

"

“Be shown, despair!”

“Hello, my dearest friend, regret!”

“How do you do, mischievous you self?”

“Oh, do I well, oh how well I do!

In this mean world, nothing but a pleasure do I face.

Those victims that I choose, think that favor has been done for them.

The hunt is rich, and entertainment this is such,

I enjoy the every second of their mystery.”

“And what's the point, sir, what's the purpose?”

“Don't play your innocent game with me, regret,

Don't give in to traits on others you enforce,

It's not like you haven't forced thousands of deaths...

I wouldn't lie, YOU give me power over innocent,

To turn them mean and rigid.

But purpose still there is,

To see extremity of force that plugged was in for centuries,

To damage something that could not be.

To cause them all to fear.”

“But turning life to ash and dust,

Destroying light in those we trust.

The goal of end of the delight,

The sun that dies at darkest night.

The power switched,

And world that’s changed.

To suffer bring for pride of yours,

Complete beyond repair disaster caused.”

“Think you not such, my friend.

I know what lurks beyond your speech,

Those honey sweet words do sink in bitter swamp,

Believe you might in goodness,

But you will come to yourself at last.”

“I am regret and I mourn every single pain.

I do not always force them to endure,

But consequences of realization do they face.

I am a slap on their confused reality

To bring them back to life.

And you, despair, cause fake effects,

You make them see the things that are not there.

You are the most dread, and deadly,

But in imagination can you only be,

As in the real world you're just a harmless, pitiful hallucination...”

“You speak the words that are so pretty,

If only truthful would they be.

Well, you think shall as you want,

But when I'll kill you with my sword,

Replacing you with hopelessness,

You will myself of value higher hold.

And see not only what you want to see,

But what there is to know.

Now, go your way and I'll go my.”

“And so I'll go, despair.
But of the threats of yours, I am not afraid.

I hope we'll never meet again!”
