EVENING LURE

EVENING LURE

A Poem by DiamondNRough AKA Patty Rase Hopson

So many times
During your friendly evening visit
I’d run to lock my bedroom door
Before you could start your evening lure.

You’d knock and knock
I’d ignore and ignore
You’d yell “You there?”
I still ignored.

Hoping you’d finally
Give up and leave
Hoping you’d finally
Make enough noise
So others would maybe believe.

Seems you were needy
And never gave up
You’d return in a a few minutes
Hoping for better luck.

How I’d sit and cry
While holding a hair dryer
Close to my ear
Hoping you’d soon give up and
Disappear.

Sometimes it worked
but sometimes it failed
No matter what,
you put me through HELL!
