The Difference

The Difference

A Poem by DiamondNRough AKA Patty Rase Hopson
"

Oh what a tangled web we weave when first we practice to deceiveSir Walter Scott

"

The Difference between the two of us,

is the difference other's see in us.

My mind is set.

I know what is right.

I'll die fighting for what is right.

You're so fickle,

doing and believing what

others what you to believe

you think it makes your life

real simple.

UNTIL:::

You see how simple life

can really be, when you

stand up for what is right.

You envy me, you're a wanna be

I am someone you could never be.

You're weak, Your Disgusting,

your mouth and emails have

you tangled.

Tangled in your own web

as I lay peaceful in the comfort

of my four poster bed.

See that's what others see,

you tangled in your own web.

Heart racing, knees shaking,

because you know what others

are capable of revealing.

See the difference between the two of us,

is the difference you have displayed to

others about yourself.

This is a scary peice and I would not like to be the person this poem is aimed at. Emotive, Strong, Secure and Right, are the words that spring to mind when reading this. We enter this peice in the middle of a conversation. This is what I like to term as walk - in poetry. A couple are dicussing where there relationship is going. Weather the conversation is heated we are not told. The Female Chracter is strong and willing to fight for what is right. Her Partner / Husband / Lover on the other hand is fickle and weak - creating an image of how he thinks the wold view him. Well images fade. The female character in this is amazing she is quiet assured and then she turns in to something quite the oppisite with the lines " You envy me / I am someone you can never be " Strong direct and maybe a hint of venom in her voice she rounds on him. Digusting weak are words that freely slip from her tounge, and it may have been his tounge that has got him caught. Im thinking he has had an affair and sworn his friends to secrecy. But i think She has known for sometime and maybe his and her friends did not agree with how She was treated so they droped in it. I liked the four poster bed offering a sound nights sleep safe and comfortable. Whilst he is in torment over what he has done because others know. Knees shacking hands sweating in his mind that eternal phrase "please don't say anything. He lived the life he wanted others to believe. well whats the middle three letters of believe .... Lie and that is what found him out.

Brilliant work here I loved this piece honest truthful and representative of a few relationships i'm sure. I would not like to be HIM respect Carl
