ADVERTISE

Help Wanted Experience Only!
One would think it was for employment
But this ad was for Help Wanted Truly.

See this little girl an innocent girl
Was painfully abused and those who should
protect her wanted  everyone
to think they didn’t know.
No one paid attention to her
Painful smile and if they did
They just turned away from her.

Cries at night, no one heard
Or maybe they did
But didn’t care enough to mend
The broken soul damaged within.

Those who should have protected her
Found it hard to face the truth
Of what her uncle did.
They decided it was much easier
To just pretend,
These things he did, would never happen again.

Oh how wrong they were to just pretend.
They expected the little girl to play along
And then the game they were playing
They were sure to win.

The little girl damaged and hurt
Realized that what had happened
Was not her blame.
The adults too ashamed of what
They had done and allowed
where the only ones
 that needed to be blamed.

See when little girls grow up
And have children of their own.
They learn from the mistakes
Their parents once made.

Now a responsible parent and adult
She refuses to continue
that cycle of ignorance.

Protecting that family name
Is not the same,
As protecting the innocent
Children GOD’S gift he gave.
