Once I am A Sleep

Once I am A Sleep

A Poem by DiamondNRough AKA Patty Rase Hopson

Once I am A Sleep

With Lavender Flowers held in my hand

I dare you to try to wake me

and settle asking forgiveness from me.

You have had your opportunity

you have ignored perfect opportunity

The last hour will be too late

In fact, it's probably already too late.

Rules  I have written

and if not followed  I have threatened

to come back and haunt

those who claim the rules they forgot.

Now that you have stalked me and you've read this poem

"Once I am A Sleep"

I bet you never close your eyes again

without visions of your only daughter

a Sleep with "Lavender Flowers" in her Hands.

Sleep tight in the arms of your worthless life.
