Malfunction

Malfunction

A Poem by Darkyshadow

I can't breathe
As if the filtered oxygen
Can't pass through the nasal cavity
Exceed not into pharynx to larynx
And reach not the lobes
Until the tiny air sacs of the lungs
Suffocate on its own.

I can't eat
As if my gustatory sense deserted
The salivary glands concealed saliva
The muscular sac with thick, expandable walls
Growled noises
Until the cells taste die
And can't generate new cells.

My heart
Surrounded by a loose-fitting,
Double-walled sac abandoned me.
As we abandoned our friendship
We trashed the memories
And disfavored the joy when we're together
As if we're both suffering from dementia
Like human system
It is severed when you relinquished.
