5 Yrs CoffeeA Poem by T. N. HodgesA spoken word poem I have performed a few times. All reviews appreciated.
I keep it all in this leather book
I have everything I need scratching out ideas is this warm skin all I've needed to nest? but all skin and alike grow cold Consuming sensations pulling my footprints away this black spot on my chest tells me different So maybe I just need sleep a hole in the back of my head I don't need anything I'd settle for less is there anything less than this constant rhythm? I think I see the orange glow the attraction of sleep hasn't seduced me yet it's Death~ She needed me to protect her but I was asleep when she died my thoughts absorb the ticking of a station clock so incline your ear to my understanding so you may hold onto solace the lips she has drip honey her feet go down to death and her steps follow the path of the damned
