The Significance of DistressA Poem by T. N. Hodges
An effective guise has been our shelter
for so long this has been our home white wine nights are followed by comfortable coffee mornings I wouldn't have it any other way An erroneous decision Audacious choices have decided our outcome truly better to have loved and lost? Not if loss was avoidable I am truly responsible for this stitch My love was drained long before our beginnings I could have been honest, still... the fiery lust of your eyes stern looks melt and morality is questioned for your embrace absolute This sentimental secret has us coy in public we are close nothing more than consorts until our safe haven we enter where I finally feel secure would I have it any other way? The mark has been made and you are the significance of my distress now a lucid memory solace will come with time until then I will be housed in dissonance
