Charon's Obol PromiseA Poem by T. N. HodgesDraft i
And so,
I welcome the most beautiful woman I've ever known. A child in her bones, and a heart dipped in wine- A Divine Messenger with book in hand and a coin bag, for when I am ready- Why come in frost? Why interrupt cracking ice? With warmth on my shoulder and barren glass to ease my nerves- four ink soaked sheets; What I could muster at this hour And so, I wave goodbye to the most beautiful woman I've ever known. Fare in mouth Abiding at peace
