The Blinds

The Blinds

A Poem by T. N. Hodges

Be patient
Life and the consumed could only move up
it would seem
fingers slowly creep in
the results are debilitating
I have to be patient
beneath the hollow
a glass house guards what we fear
shapeless faces scream forgiveness
unsettling
the cause drifts away
yet the sense never did
the mind in water
a body made sacrifice
now I'm whole
you have to be patient
you have to wait it out
