MORE THAN JUST A GAME

The campaign that's fought outside of the game.

"It's just a game?" No, it is not. It's my escape from this horrid world. It shows me hope in the eyes of a fantasized world, hope that people cling to, when reality we have no such thing. We live so ordinary, so casual, when in this "game" there is so much excitement. It feels never ending and you want to live it through till its end, but not even then do you want it to stop. Yes, I know it isn't right for me to have this as my getaway, but this world too isn't fare. I walk in a crowd at school like an unimportant teen, but here in this fantasized world I am looked up to as if king. I am a hero in their eyes, but in the eyes of others, I am nothing but an outcast. Don't bother me to go and hangout with my "friends", I only have acquaintances. I am unwanted from them, otherwise I wouldn't be here living in this "game". But here online in these fantasized worlds I do have friends. Clearly I am wanted from them, they have my back from the heat of the moment, we laugh and share jokes, and show that we want one and another's company through requests. Truly they are my friends. Truly here in these video games I am seen, I am known, I am honored upon. So don't say that "It's just a game", because it damn well isn't.
