Waiting for that Next Time

Waiting for that Next Time

A Poem by Destiny Glenn

Waiting for You

Written by: Destiny R. Glenn

Suddenly every face is your face.

What’s going on?

The power of love can be insane.

Who would want to sit here missing you all day?

I never know what’s going on over there.

What if another girl has caused you to stare?

What if your soul was no longer here?

Oh, how would I know?

This is such a scare!

You’re never on the other line to say goodnight.

I hear you say I love you sometimes;

Even though it’s all just in my mind,

My mind likes to start wandering as if I wasn’t near.

My life isn’t ready to go out and about.

It’s so hard without you by my side.

Dreaming of our past encounters;

There’s not a night I go not thinking about you.

I like to stare at the door,

Imagining you standing there calling my name;

As if I’d daydreamed yet again.

You come walking towards me,

Kissing me until it fades.

I keep this scene constantly on replay.

As our song stays on repeat;

I just want to be able to say I miss you.

That day is so far away.

The tears begin to flow when I spot your name,

It’s like you’re here with me again.

It brings back the memory of when we last kissed goodbye,

Not thinking it was going to be for this long of a time.

I just want the chance to apologize.

It was me who puts us in this condition.

If only I could go back in time and undo my wrongs.

I know all the hurt I’ve caused.

Its helps to think one day it’ll all be done.

I know it will be like this for years and years to come;

But I just want you to know I’m waiting.

Waiting for you,

My love.
