Where Were You?

Where Were You?

A Poem by Deyeil
"

Just a poem about moving on from a man who obviously doesn't love me.

"
Even with nothing left to do,
Oh where were you? Where were you?
Gone away to some far away place,
Forgetting me so that you could save face
A day for love, to celebrate,
Guess not for me, too second rate,
Not many words, no, not even a few,
Oh where were you? Where were you?

Busy, yes, too busy for your love,
I'm just in the way, so away you'll shove
But why is it special? I guess that's the question.
You may not know, but I have a suggestion,
It's special because, we wish it to be,
A day where it's only for you and for me.
Where passion meets flame, an inferno takes form,
Question becomes certainty, and love is born.

But after so long, it's really nothing new, for me to ask,
Oh where were you? Where were you?

I've always had a deep interest in reading poetry, but didn't try my hand at writing until events in my life nearly demanded I have some kind of outlet. I chose to express my feelings through poetry. .. more..
