Precious Gift

An expression of giving your heart to someone in the awake of first love.

Your beauty is flawless,
Your Heart is Pure,
Your eyes shine like emeralds
And they will see our love through.
You're the girl I dreamt about
Since I was a kid
And an absolute Gemstone.

I don’t have much money, jewellery to offer
But one thing you should know.
What I gave you is something
Priceless,
My most precious Gift,
Money can’t buy,
And the only treasure inscribed with
Your name.

That is my Heart,
Which grew to love you
For who you are.
Being Grateful for every moment we spend,
And cherishing each of them dearly,
For in our souls they shine
Brighter than Gold
And prevail longer than eternity!
Don’t ever forget that.

Hi Nkosana. I love your title. It suits your poem beautifully. A lovely write to the special person you love that is heartfelt. Well crafted free verse which I enjoy. Good imagery, flow and tone. Line to line transition and breaks are done well. Nice rhythm. Nice use of metaphor. Deep expression of emotion; you express your feelings for her lovingly, this love that has grown in you; a precious gift that I'm sure she will not forget. I especially like these lines:
"My most precious Gift,
Money can’t buy,
And the only treasure inscribed with
Your name." - lovely.
Good word choice. Nice use of repetition for emphasis of feeling. Good closing lines. Well penned and a much enjoy read. Write on!
