Rest In Peace Wonderful

Rest in Peace to my wonderful beloved dog, Toby. He passed away about a month ago. (April 17th) Everything I write it 100% true. Sorry for the weird rhyme scheme it's a bit free-style.

Toby

Just a year old, I came home to my best friend

He's the same age. We have the same hair color

Were so alike! I love him!!!

We play dolls, barbies, he barks and protects

Were 4 and 5 and I'm in kindergarten

I look out my window during school

Tobys outside the classroom window! Barking for me to come home

He followed my to school everyday and waited outside my window right near my cubby

5 years later were both 6 now. 

He's off on his own adventure through the woods of our home

He's been chasing deer and cars all life

He's shot. He's been shot. My Toby has been shot right through the heart

Shot directly through the heart with an arrow by a deer hunter

Toby, my best friend walks home with a bleeding heart

I see him bleeding as he struggles up the porch steps

Dad opens the door and runs to help him

He's layed out on the rug in front of my door. Crying.

Blood is gushing I cry from the top of the steps

Watching him below like his angel above.

Mom calls the cops. The vet. Everyone

Toby's whimpering and dads getting ready to say goodbye

I cry with my sister and brother because were scared

Cops come. Vets here

Hes shooter isn't found. Its been 3 days they can't find him

Toby is alive. He didn't die. You can't break a heart like his

You can't take my best friend like that. But nice try.

I love Toby. I aid him while he's still injured

He's still smiling and never stopped.

Were 10 now. Im worried he might leave me soon

He's got medical problems and won't stop limping but I know he's strong

Grey hairs are growing but he's still my best friend

We always go on walks through town. He's got a new girlfriend in town!

Hes girlfriend is obedient too! She uses crosswalks correctly and she's a Shepard

Tobys so happy. They go for walks themselves on the beach

I learn to share my best friend with his girlfriend

He loves her and it makes my happy

13 years old, we are

Hes girlfriend is dead and Toby isn't looking so good

Im bullied at school and feeling depressed. I come home and sob with my arms around his neck

Toby looks upset that I'm crying so i stop

Toby is looking sick. He's blind now but still smiles

I smile back even though he can't see it

Ive got a feeling we will be best friends forever and ever

I don't like to think of life without my best friend because after all, he's all I've ever learned to love

14 years old, both of us the same age but he's not looking great

Mom talks about saying goodbye but i don't believe it

Toby loved walks remember? He can't make it down the steps anymore without falling

Hes scars are looking old and he's starting to get smelly!

Still 14

The day has come to say goodbye

This is hard to hard i think he knows its coming

Were so silent. I hug him and loved him and flashbacks begin

Knocks on the door. The vet is here to put him to forever sleep

I run to my room i can't watch my best friend leave it hurts

I here a yelp and with that, he's dead. My best friend is dead

Feels like I've been shot this time

He was ment to be on earth

Born to live, to survive

Shot down but still survived

My best friend is never gone from my heart

Rest in Peace Toby I think about you everyday

Your buried in the yard

Your never actually gone

I can still talk to you when I'm down because you right at home

But you can't hear me. 

Nothing ever held you back
