12A Poem by Devinked7115
Years ago, I made a pledge, to never let my guard down.
To live as if I'm always ahead, a skeptic to kindness and the likes.
Years ago, I made a pledge, to never jump if he's not there, To wait for him in a lost street, with nothing but my weary hands - Tired of grabbing my past, denying help, succumbing to fire. Years ago, I made a pledge, to never force anyone to stay, To never give too much, to never fight alone! So much time is gone, I need not any promises anymore. My weak knees finally got stronger. My tainted eyes finally see clearer, And my heart - now ready to surrender. I see the mountains ahead, the strong rivers at the west, The burning stare of the sun - And the deafening dance with the moon. But, I see you and you see me - I feel you in every air I breathe. I need you, and I choose you... I'm finally ready to say, "I Love You." © 2017 Devinked7115 |
