Wisps of Reflected Fragments Flicker

Wisps of Reflected Fragments Flicker

A Poem by Devin Jeanel

From within the pit of despair, I look up
Seeing wisps of reflected fragments above
Echo of the past flickers across the screen
Nothing's the same or at least what it seems

Whispered lightning dashes the night sky
As I wait for the marching dawn to arrive
Winds of change flanks and advances
First rays drive the seductive lances

Echoed laughter of a haunting but sultry glimpse
Driving the luscious curves of radiant's desire
Diamond hardness into the mysterious beyond
Praying fearing mirroring until dawn

A brutal tempest wrecks havoc without mercy
Completing its assault on cognitive content
Still from my pit of despair, I look up
Taking yet another slip from my coffee cup

Watching as the ever present invisible man
As the wisps of reflected fragments flicker
Waning patience cracks the hardened resolve
Uncompromising ego either evolves or dissolves

Wax wings lifts from the pit upward to the dawn
Gliding over the tempest destroying whats below
All has happened before and will yet again
Mirrors and smoke fill the air with chagrin
