Just a short poem

Drifting with the wind

If you asked me to tell you a story,
It would not be a tale of glory.
Because this hero never did win.
There were times that I took a fall;
On my hands and knees, I had to crawl,
Losing grasp of the strength within.
If I had the chance to go back,
One opportunity to rewrite my past,
I would simply grin.
Because those days are gone
And I've moved on;
Drifting with the wind.

I love this...it is a wonderful poem...sometimes we want to change something in the past but all we can do is live here in the present.

Brilliant. You've captured your feelings wonderfully.

I especially like this part:
"If I had the chance to go back,
One opportunity to rewrite my past,
I would simply grin.
Because those days are gone
And I've moved on"

Having been through some tough times myself, and knowing some people that have been through worse I know that this is an honest reaction.

The only thing I could suggest would be to work on the rhyming, but the poem flows brilliantly so I don't really think it's needed.
