Rebelling Stagnation

Rebelling Stagnation

A Poem by Daniel Rodriguez
"

A poem written for an essay contest. Heres hoping it does well. And yes, I realize how Emo it is. I apologize ;p

"

I think that my mind has been lost to the ages

of when i was smart and wise

now I exist in this series of circles left wondering

wandering

fleeting a glimpsing memory of the person I was.

Do you understand what I am trying to say

is there sense to make in these silly syllables of mine?

I express on two levels

why are you blind to the true meaning?

Why should I say that I am not who I used to be?

Why should you expect nothing wrong with me?

Me, asking of you is me wanting you to ask of me.

Care about my day, my week, my life.

I remember the happy sounds I made

my friends and I

my toys and I.

Life has not been kind to him

as he wanders alone, and I will follow.
