The Laughing Child

The Laughing Child

The Laughing Child

He sits on the corner,
stairing with his bright red eyes.
They say he was once a boy,
the long greased hair,
his gender hides.

The smile is bright,
the room becomes lit.
Never has he not smiled,
never was the room dim.

A fickle light flickers,
in reality one should not see.
But the bright smile,
the eyes of something gone yet here,
make the activities in the pit visible.

He makes simple crackles,
never a single frown.
Alone he is,
huddled together.
Yet still he smiles.

He laughs,
he smiles.
He cant stop himself.
Maybe he was once human,
now he is the Laughing Child.

Wow! What an amazing poem! At first I was confused, but when I got to the end, I understood the poem. It was very well written, wonderfully detailed, and greatly descriptive! The laughing child... what an awesome poem! I really enjoyed reading it! :D
