White Noise

White Noise

A Poem by Daniel Rodriguez
"

A day. A life.

"

Sitting in a life with the television on

the screen shows blue and static

my mind plays songs

in endless loop and lack of rhyme

I beg for order, for something fun

the floor is hard, the couch sinks me

I fall asleep and wake up

nothing different but the numbers on the date and clocks

Time is both enemy and friend.

It offers hope that will last only temporary

I remain, hoping not to fall to far

as this strange game keeps playing

I look to the static in front of me.

My head scream nonsensical sounds

Let it come, let it pass

As long as I am, I will be.

For now, the floor is hard, the couch does not devour all of me.
