you said you did-

you said you did-

A Poem by Melody P-

held behind eyes
kept close- held shut-

that speak of the heart
and speak of nothing but...

nicotine stains from tainted lips
smoke rolled filter fingertips-

boose bought
poured liquor shots
poison sweet-
forgotten nots

but behind these eyes hold that place
trade truth for thoughts that you replace

you do-
and I smile because I know
release- escape-
let go...

walk my dear, I'll step aside-
repeat, repeat nomore!

endless are the boundries
stretched further than before

I've fallen but...
grip tight- hold fast-
battle the fight of the unsurpassed

nails dug in kicking- screaming
continue the dream
that keeps on dreaming

then be brought to solid ground
circle back and come around

spew the words that do exist
touched by night
you are wind kissed-

to the edge of eternity
the blatant overcame the obscurity

captured in your own dimension
moments held in pure retention

do you know...
matter of fact you don't

you said you did-
but in truth..you won't!

About
Like many, I've found writing to be quite overwhelming... at times the all consuming and in every aspect of emotion a great release. Evans Blue - Cold (But I'm Still Here)Add to My P.. more..
