A Waiting Heart

A Waiting Heart

A Poem by Devi DM

I am waiting here,
Amongst thousands of dancing trees
And blossoming flowers
Under the full moon,
Taking shelter from the showers
Of the deceitful monsoon
Who tries to carry me away
From you, the one who slays...

Standing here alone
With know where else to go
And nothing but you in this heart,
Oh keeper of bliss
The bestower of boons,
Will you ever let me know
Where you hide.
Won't you come out
From where you reside
And save this soul from inside....

I am waiting here,
About to drown in this rain of suffering
As it fills this land
On which i stand,
Calling out to you oh the supreme will
The lifter of govardhana hill
Will you not wipe away these tears?
Falling, into the abyss of life that disappears...

Standing here alone
With know where else to turn
And nothing but you in this heart,
Oh my flute playing lord
The refuge of all,
Will you ever let me know
Where you hide.
Won't you come out
From where you reside
And save this soul from inside...
