A Forgiving MotherA Poem by DevanshiA mother's love is the most forgiving and lasting one.Her hands hold mine, For a noticeable chunk of time. The warmth unable to be released, Of her soft hands that would never cease. I spill out the words, Out of excitement like flying birds, I never meant to say them, You didn’t want to hear them. How was I unable to realize, That they would hurt your soft heart? How did it never occur to me, That holding in words, Was part of a growing me? I want you to be mine, Forever until the love shines. A mother can never be replaced, My words will henceforth, Never be misplaced. You came back. If I were you, I would never have. You are a mother true to your soul, Forgiving as you are, Your words correct my soul. Never shall I take advantage, Of your forgiving self. I will change into a better being, Like the protagonists on that book shelf. Her hands hold mine once again, Her face beaming with pride, To see her girl becoming like her, To see the love we are beginning to regain. I shall never push again, That love towards the very edge, Because I cannot bear to see twice, You going far away, from my eyes. © 2016 DevanshiAuthor's Note
