LOOK THERE...A UNIQUE WORLD

LOOK THERE...A UNIQUE WORLD

A Poem by Devansh Shekhar Shukla
"

Composed in 2015, this is the sixth poem from my book, 'DSS-The Enigma-2018'.

"
Look there, far in the city,
there is a businessman, who is flying.
And inside the palace,
on the bed, a bird is lying.

Look there, far in the zoo,
a man is jumping on a tree.
And there, on the ticket counter,
a monkey is collecting fee.

Look there, far in the street,
a man and a dog in the lane.
Chain is in the man’s neck,
the dog is holding the chain.

Look there, far on the tree,
there are so many ice-creams.
But I know the reality of this unique world,
it’s one of my foolish dreams.

Hey Devansh
Haha, I really liked the role-reversals throughout the poem. What's most impressive is the precise reversals you've talked about. I think it makes it so much better! I loved the man on tree and monkey collecting fee thing the most.
It's an interesting world, no doubt, maybe even more so than ours! :D

Rather interesting change of places in this poem, I also like how you arranged the stanzas to help make your point. Nicely done ser.

Thanks a lot, Arianna for reading and reviewing!
Interesting interpretation Devansh, I liked it wonderful role swap of humans and animals. Letting them see what it's like to be treated in reversed roles.

Dev,
An amusing poem . . . quite imaginative. Yes . . . it would, to us, be a confusing world if we suddenly were transfered there.

Thank you so much for your review and yes, it would be a confusing world for us...
i wonder what it would be like if the roles reversed...maybe we would be better off if the animals ruled...they hunt for survival, not sport...and they probably wouldn't use us as experiments..there might be respect...more respect than we give.
