The dark night

The dark night

A Poem by D Kamdar

The night was long the roads were cold,
With noone there but the streetlights old,
The clock read four with chill added more,
Noone to take pitty on this lone stranger to the city,
There were no signs for any lifts or taxi,
With broken shoes I walked the streets,
With the shedding trees with silent greets,
Not even a bat in this aloof night,
The frozen fingers had turned so tight.
No bench to sleep, for this heavy heap,
Just a compass and the stars led my trail,
The wound was deep and the mind in ail,
For the knife was sharp and the wound was deep,
Noone to shelter or render help for a flip,
So far I'd travelled leaving some prints of blood,
With the hope of some help and a tinch of favour,
In the silence of the night I was so helpless,
That a layer of cloth on the wound would do very less,
Hoping that some help will arrive in the morn,
I leaned under the tree in this lonely storm,
Waking up I found myself in long pretty arms,
Who else could be as beautiful as an angel in heaven?

This is complex and could have many different interpretations, it's a story of loneliness and life and at the end a burst of both hope and sadness. Love this! XxXx
