And The World A Victim of It's Inhabitants

And The World A Victim of It's Inhabitants

A Poem by DevKass92
"

An acknowledgement of a sad, but very prevalent and relevant truth: the destructive power of humans, and human nature.

"

And the trees briskly woken by violent breezes;

And the shores swallowed by turbulent waves;

And the ground beneath our feet raped by our vicious footsteps

In their walks and jogs and endless strides;

And the food fiercely caressed by our lustful tongues and

Devoured by our decaying teeth;

And the Sun playing tug-of-war with the Moon;

And the animals in our reserves endangered by our recreation;

And the promises of the future affected by

            The history of our past and the history we make today;

And our vast seas sadly ravaged by our harmful waste;

And the beauty of this world tainted by our greed;

And what about the people who invade our lives and homes

            With their lust and scorn and cravings for control

            Fuelled by their ambition, all coated in the raw deception

            Of love and the empty promise of acceptance?

And all the people given birth to be the birth of inexistence.

Human nature is incredibly destructive, especially when you consider the voluntary destructions humans perform on nature. It is our responsibility to look after our Earth. After all, we do consider it ours, do we not?

I will never understand. History is repeated and it is written to be learn and not to be repeated.

A hard question above. If man lived for profit and land. Human life had no value. This is a deep conversation with no real answer. We can organize a World cup for soccer. Can't organize a meeting for peace? Thank you for sharing your powerful poetry and thoughts.
