Mahogany Hearts

Mahogany Hearts

A Poem by DevKass92
"

A poem about divorce.

"

Pristine Redwood with a velvety finish.

Possesses pine-scented out trims.

All these Mahogany hearts,

With their smooth and indelible surfaces,

In such popular demand.

Each to have etched

Its own fancy patterns upon:

Outlined by its randomness and

Inscribed by its fulfilment.

Its hollowness embraced by its transparency and

Its promise embroiled in malevolence.

Hurried patrons delve into bankruptcy

As Mahogany hearts consume

The vast desire that roams

All around us, until it surrounds us.

Punished by Time:

Its varnish fades,

Cracks appear and reappear,

It loses its authenticity.

Bought with wedding bands and

Sold with divorce papers "

Burn these Mahogany hearts "

The soft scent of love lost

Rises from amber flames.

A amazing poem. You create a story and a sad ending.
"Bought with wedding bands and
Sold with divorce papers "
Burn these Mahogany hearts "
The soft scent of love lost
Rises from amber flames."
The above lines. Allowed the reader to feel the final burn. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.
