Summertide

Summertide

A Poem by R. T. Hyder

What a beautiful night
when the sun strolls beneath the moon
and the stars come out to play under the purple sky,
when the owls and trees find common ground
and darkness envelopes them in the warm breeze,
when we lie under this velvet canopy
and look above to see speckled bursts of white light,
when our hearts flutter with the wind
and release the pressure from a long day’s travel,
when you and I meet at the crossroads
and tangle ourselves around a summer's love.

Thank you!
RT...a very sweet little poem. Thanx for posting. (BTW...read your profile and agree...as I got older, fewer words made the point.) ...bobc
