Eulogy

Eulogy

A Poem by Devin Mitchell Durbin

I think you underestimate me
you underestimate me
you think you've got it all right
but you have got it all wrong
you're hypnotized and undone
Think you're just writing a song
but this is just a eulogy.

I think you've got me all wrong
you've got me wrong
you have this image of me
but that's not who I really am
you're lost and confused
thinking I'm a hero,
but I am just a bloody man.

I have, my weaknesses too.
I'm broken down, and beaten too.
I'm losing my breath;
and I'm losing my mind.
I've run out of synonyms
to make this poem be something special.

I just want to be free from you.
I just want to be free from you.
I just want to be free from you.

You're still the voice that takes me down.
