Up, Captain.

Up, Captain.

A Poem by Devin Mitchell Durbin
"

A love poem, as well as a farewell, and a hello to the future.

"

Up, captain
Straight away I say.
Ride against the sunset;
Escape and fly away.

Up, captain.
To the sky We fly.
Forth into the blue.
I'm coming home to you.

Up, captain
For I have been away.
The distance I have been
Lost along the wind.

Up, captain
The stars are coming swift
And the evening calls
And I know whom I am to be with.

Up, captain
For I can see the people
Scurrying along the ground.
My home I've not yet found.

Up, captain
For there is still so much sky
Though I was not born to fly
Some days I just love the sky.

Up captain,
To the river forthwith
I'm returning home
Once more.

Up captain.
For we may meet again
You will always be my friend
Where we come so close to touching.

Up captain.
And goodbye.
I will see you soon.
