Flakey Boys

Inspired by The Reviewers poem 'Flakey Girls'. This is the boys version of it. Enjoy!

Flakey Boys

 

You know they look good

These flakey boys

They put on that smile

And you buy it

 

They reel you in

They’re in it for the catch

You’re the fish

And they’re the fishermen

 

They just want to get wet

It’s a typical one night stand

They’re booking their schedules

She’s today, she’s tomorrow

 

And they flirt

They flirt so sweet

They kiss so good

And they look so nice, wanting and hard

 

You know it won’t last

But for the moments

That he takes you

You think it’s worth it

 

Where’s your pride, darling?

He’s just leading you on

He’ll ride you till you’re out of gas

Till your engine stops running

Then he’s going to jump start another car

And continuously repeat

Till he gets to his destination

 

Don’t be another car

Just another ride

A brick to step on

Something flat to travel along

 

Find your pride

And find someone who rides you

Just as much as you ride them

So if your engine breaks

So will his

And you’ll be stuck, side by side

Unable to drive to a new destination

 

Ah, these flakey boys

They’re in it for the catch

They’re in it for the ride

Ride ‘em back

Ignite your pride

Shake them till they’re all out

Of flakes

I agree that the car metaphors go really well with the topic. I enjoyed reading this since I know so many "flakey" boys. I hate how they trick us and make us complete fools with their games they play us with. Then leave us when we decide not to play their little games anymore and move on with someone new!

Unable to drive to a new destination" That's my favorite stanze, it stands out the most to me! That's true that we need to find someone as we treat them. I know a lot of people deserve a lot better treatment than what they've been put through, including myself. Well done! :)
