We are broken. No doubt about it. But in spite of what life has tossed us, We have proven that we can make it. We may not be able to completely fix ourselves, For there will always be the telltale signs, But we can make the pain bearable. We can find solace in who we are, In who we were, And in who we can become. All of those people who tore us apart, Who didn't have the decency to treat us as humans, They won't matter anymore. Because we may be broken, But we won't let that stop us from living.
Awww I loved this! It was so powerful. You speak such a high level of wisdom! Yet you are so right on what you are saying which makes it all the better! This really speaks the truth in break ups. It should make all who go through it a little bit easier, including me. Im glad I read this! Keep it up!
Your message is so powerful and positive, I almost feel as if the title should reflect that. Then again, maybe the dichotomous nature of the title was your way of making your point. Either way, wonderful piece.
I like the hurt power and anger hidden within the depths of the words you have put upon the page, a defiant yearning to become more than what they did and said, to grow to become more than you could ever believe possible, no defeat lines the poem it is about a rebirth of beauty, astounding and true honesty breathes a breeze of melody into the words to allow them to dance across the mind of the reader.
