Key

Key

A Poem by Destinee
"

So easily taken care of...

"

All hope for a better life without him
Locked away with the hope he would return
And even though there is no shadow on the door,
Not a single thought of her crosses his mind,
The drawer remained locked.

She had swallowed the key.

The few lines in this poem pack in a world of meaning and they really work together perfectly. There is so much complexity- emotions, lack of emotions, hopes, and pain- that are swallowed with the key, and each line captures it beautifully. Brilliant work :)
