PiecesA Poem by DestineeOh, these pieces are so exquisite in their agonizing brilliance.Silent screams echo through the maze of hallways. They’re trying to find you, to tell you I need you, To tell you my heart is breaking apart at the seams. Those seams that you tried to stitch to hold it together, They’re failing me. I can hear them, but they are so faint, their cries. From their shining diamond mouths like tears they sing, And it is the most heart wrenching song you’ll ever hear. But you’ll never hear them; you’re lost in your own world, You’re failing me. So I sit alone, rocking the vibrant shards of my heart to sleep. It’s a sleep we know we will never find and yet we keep searching, Searching for the moment when the screams and cries quiet. But it is all for naught for they will always scream and cry. Thus is the nature of a broken heart. © 2009 DestineeAuthor's Note
