The darkness doesn't feel poetic anymore

it's just the deepest exhaustion felt down to my core

It's just the poisonous thoughts coursing through my mind

Vicious and deadly to anything kind

The darkness doesn't feel dramatic anymore

It's just a constant sadness making everything a bore

It's just a cavern of emptiness inside my heart

Vast and endless it keeps me apart

The darkness doesn't feel romantic anymore

It's just an abusive relationship behind a closed door

It's just a pretty smile that doesn't quite reach the eye

Vibrant and practiced, a convincing lie
