The pledge
A Story by Bloggergirl29
Keep in mind I respect everyone whom the pledge stands for and all the men and women who have lost their lives for our freedom, this was simply a school assignment which I felt should be put out there
I will stand I will place my hand over my heart, but I will not repeat your cultural defusing, unjust forcage of religion upon our open child minds. these customs are plagues upon schools, most of which unable to freely speak of religion without fear of consequence. Now, this may seem harsh however Since we started reciting the pledge I have been thinking up ways to avoid participating tolerable intollerable joke of ironic controdictory behavior to no avail.

Are you talking about the pledge of Allegiance?? You think that saying the words "under God" is an "unjust forcage of religion upon your open child mind"? You are not free from other people opinions about religion, and any government that does free you from that is EVIL for reasons I will explain later. The words "under God" are not forcing you to become christian, or in any way influencing you in any way that YOU don't allow. In America, we all respect each other's freedom, therefore NO one is standing beside your desk, and holding a gun to your head telling you to recite the pledge of Allegiance. I don't believe any teacher is lowering your grade because of your failure to recite it, and the honest truth is that I don't believe anyone cares enough to hassle you if you choose not to say the pledge. If you don;t like it then don't say it, nada get on with your life.
And in what way is the pledge culturally defusing? Do you want every ethnicity to be represented or something? Every citizen already gets liberty and justice; what more can you want? It is not the governments job to enrich your life with things; nowhere in any of our founding documents will you find something that entitles you to food water or shelter; those things are YOUR job to provide for yourself and your family.
Also, "intolerable joke of ironic contradictory"? Is that supposed to describe the pledge? For heavens sakes; are you some kind of social justice warrior?? If thats the case then my advice to you is to stop wasting your time; this is not utopia, and it never will be. Every single society that ever was, is, or will be is flawed with injustice and corruption, and there is absolutely nothing you can do about it. There is nothing a thousand people can do about it; heck, theres nothing even a million people can do about it.
Trying to unite everyone under one mind is called COMMUNISM, and if you'll recall what happened to Stalin's empire, it failed miserably. You may also real that America fought VERY hard to stop the spread of communism in the Cold War. We did that because we are America, and we believe in liberty and justice for all, and the only way to create a society with perfect justice is to remove freedom, and that in itself is a MASSIVE injustice, and violation of YOUR unalienable right.
If you want to improve society, there is only one thing you can do, and that is to be a good person yourself. Now I don't know you, so I'm not implying anything here, but maybe work on that before you try to revolutionize society as a whole. No one is perfect, and no one ever will be; and as such no organization is perfect, and none ever will be. trying to fix society is like trying to stand against to a truck on the freeway.

Honestly I couldn't Get through your whole message, not to be offensive this is not my intention however as soon as I read the first few paragraphs I felt as unable to speak up for myself and my beliefs as a writer as when I was told I must stand it is disrespectful not to speak those words I'd been told to memerise since grade school. I have but the upmost amount of respect for all those who have fought and died for my freedom but the negative connection I have with school has effected my feelings toward many things I feel powerless toward.

Well, I suppose it does look like I was attacking you there; sorry. Its more the idea that I have a problem with. I am a pretty hardcore patriot, and seeing something written against the pledge of allegiance was kind of shocking to me. I have strong connections with the military, and as such feel very very strongly about issues like this. I am glad that you respect those who have fought and died for our freedom, and you'll notice I never accused you of not respecting them. All I did was address the reasons why you dislike the pledge (or at least the ones stated in your literature).
Maybe it is just a piece of literature, but ideas are powerful things. People have been tortured and killed for possessing books you know. I was concerned that you possessed the ideas you expressed in your writing, and decided to tell you some opposing ones.
I understand having negative connotations associated with anything relating to school; the American school system is another long rant that i won't get into. However I still don't understand some of your objections to the Pledge of Allegiance. If they are only the ones you wrote about then I think I addressed every issue, and I hope I was able to give you something new to think about regardless.
All things considered, you took this very very well. thank you. I want you to know that I do not mean any offense or disrespect to you, and I really really should have mentioned that the first time. Once again, thank you, and once again, Im sorry.
