The shadow lets me see

I smile for the shadows speak to me at night

Before sunrise I knew

I knew, of light

I knew of color

The hushed lullaby of knowledge swept through the room as the swinging breeze 

I knew of stars

the moon 

I knew of the tree in which my family's story grew

The past in which we'd created

The future being built

Though I may not see

I know, For the shadows have given me this
