demons

demons

A Poem by Rose Marie

Demons

She’d past the point of no return

As she watched her demons twist and burn

Taking the pain day by day

Everyone watched her slowly fade

She didn’t care that she could die

Because to her it wasn’t right

To take up this earthly space

When no one was willing to give her grace

All anyone saw was her smile

But they didn't see deep down was sorrow

People had burned down her walls

Without thinking of her at all

Without asking “can I come in?”

This poor little girl was only ten

But as she grew older

Her heart had grown colder

So as she entered her later teens

She felt she was ready to spread her wings

From that building she finally leaped

Into her forever lasting sleep

Her wings took hold of her soul

Her lips turned blue her body grew cold
