Denails Embrace

Denails Embrace

A Poem by Madison
"

When the present is overwhelming, and the near past is a chokening dungeon, all thats left for the preservation of sanity, is denial.

"

Denial in the back of my brain,

never reaching my lips.

Like a lost child,

I cling to days of old,

Vainly ignoring present problems.

Goin about day to day business,

lookin past shadowed corners.

A knife stuck deep down,

Afraid to look,

Afraid to feel.

Denial in the back of my brain,

A demon on my shoulder,

My angel long gone.

although i dont really support denial (unless the denial is actually the truth), this was a good piece of writing. repression can be a pain in the a*s :(
