Under the Moonlight

I remember the night we had to say goodbye,

tears streamed down my face

you looked at me and wiped my tears away,

you held me close telling everything will be okay.

Being held by your embrace made me feel safe,

the warmth of your skin burns to the touch,

being this close to you made my heart beat with joy.

This empty space between us is just for a while,

even in the coldest nights I cry with a smile,

knowing one day we will be together again.

I look up at the sky

remembering the moments we spent together,

my heart begins to exhilarate,

the stars seems to shine brighter

every time I think of you, 

deep down I know one day

we will meet again under the same moonlight.

I always wonder how can someone

become your weakens and your strength,

or how can they can become the reason 

you can't wait for another brighter day.

You have become the reason I stand tall,

and each day that goes by being without you

I know I have the strength to face another day alone,

I hold close to my heart all the "I love yous" we've said,

and all the times we shared together,

despite the two different worlds we live in,

we became one.
