Ghosts and ShadowsA Poem by MoonflowerEmpty pockets and Tired mindsIf your pain, was an inflection upon me I had not noticed So, when they tried to intervene I held your hands, pulled you in, and Melded [Can two souls touch, recombine and find their feathers intertwined?] I asked you to explain the Universe unfold me, out in four directions You were a hologram, with unseeing eyes As you left me with my desert heart unwound around Super Nova Stars [Where were you? Where was your place among the masses?] While You crossed arms and barricaded bridges I slumped against an iron heart There were pieces left, ones that I held in my palms, -Tender and tried to reattach, severed hinges [Were you broken?] Even before I crashed into your empty spaces leaving a blood stained trail In my wake I tried to believe that you were.. That I might've sewn you back together And maybe I did, but what is left.. besides stardust and aching throats, Tethered edges with a fractured loom, You never held me again, but I saw your irises, felt the warm perfume of your breath [Sliding, silken skin] Your flesh was a hallowed sanctuary A sensation of falling and picking back up Where we began... Where we left off... If I could find you, reopen that sealed wound Would you finally look at me, with beauty in your eyes Sorrow in your captulated breath I'm looking in the recesses of severed minds, But you're still [and silent] © 2012 MoonflowerAuthor's Note
