Broken ways to pass the time

Broken ways to pass the time

A Poem by Moonflower

Someone
leave the light on
in the basement, you called home
I heard the distant thunder
And I ran out into the cold
its the way you
lay your fingers
in a row to trace my bones
you carry all the secrets
that no one else cares to know

And I don't want to grow old
I don't want to grow old
I'm watching time, I take the clock
and let it rewind
until my senses dull
I'll leave you empty
but your mind so full

Someone left the light on
but I was never at home
I tried to lock the door
but then it made me feel so alone

You left me empty, but my
mind is full
And your hands
they trace the spaces
where my beauty
used to be
and the you ask me why
I'm not who I pretend to be
