Girl in the Red Hat

Girl in the Red Hat

A Poem by Moonflower
"

Evil Grin

"

There is a girl
that no one has heard of
She is a shadow
in this world

She is a ghost,
but her eyes
They know the beauty
that surrounds her
They understand, more than most

but she's a ghost

And no one knows
No one knows..
the secrets her quiet mind holds

And she's standing
in the doorway
smoke unfurling, blue eyes
searching
out the world
As it undulates around her,

Finds sanctuary
in the clouds
dissipating into sweeping
landscapes

And there's acid
on her face

It is burning away, leaving
scars and holes and pain
There is ugliness and rage

She closes her hands
 fights against the ways
of everything around her

And her screams
are made
of thunder
lightning flashes
in the distance
Illuminating everything
around her
No one cares to notice
The swirling winds of pain
that carry her under

And they left...

Before they found her

Oh wow! Im the first one here? Great!
My first reaction was that this was great. I enjoyed it. I see that you really capture the essence of how a spirit probalay (can never seem to spell this word right...) feels when they leave the world. Adding the fact that this spirit is a little girl, it justs adds the right emotion the reader needs to feel in order to get the impact.
Once again, well done!
By the way, I was listening to Hymn by Immediate Music and it seemed to really fit with the poem (and it is almost the same lenght as well. The time it took me to listen to Hymn was how long I read the poem!). Take a listen and tell me what you think.
