I think you have a really good title, and I love that about this poem.
I don't really think the poem uncovers the true power of that title though. Who are they? It seems that you are just talking to another person here, possibly a lover who has wronged the speaker of this poem. I understand the want to destroy everything, I think that is good.
How about "Carefully, she brought the Hatchet?"
I think some more specific details about what the hatchet could be nice. Maybe some more specific details about the destruction she wants to bring. We don't necessarily need to know about what proceeded this, but I feel like some imagery or symbolism would be helpful.
Also, the question towards the end of the poem seems to be interesting. Is it a question of permission, something the speaker wonders if she can do? It almost seemed like she was asking for permission from him when I first read it.
This poem has impact for expressing hurt and revenge and I like the wording. I'm not sure if you left the in my path out on purpose but it would balance the poem. Nice write Desiree

Hello :)
My name is Desiree.
What brings me to this website is my love for poetry and storytelling. At this time I consider myself more of a poet, than a writer or author.
I do not have the pa.. more..
