I think that one could read the final five lines two ways. Firstly: The all powerful in society do not fall because they are the ones antagonizing the speaker. Secondly: The people who are strong do not give in to those taunts and jeers.
I would like to read it as the second of the two options. Maybe that is just an indication of my glass-half-full ideology. Yet, seeing as this is a conversation I think it just might fit. I feel as if a speaker is conveying this poem to another person. The speaker tells that person that these things overshadow them all, but the "mighty do not fall."
That is just my take on things. In other news, I think your poetic tree worked well.
The choppy feel as my lips read down the page adds so much depth. That is why I love your writing. You think, not just of the words, but the delivery. Simple phrase that pack punches. What writing should be.
I really like this write. The way it flows is really great. I also really like the imagery at the start and ending. 'Faces, hard with judegement and mighty do not fall'. Enjoyed reading this :)
Hello :)
My name is Desiree.
What brings me to this website is my love for poetry and storytelling. At this time I consider myself more of a poet, than a writer or author.
