The Storm

The Storm

A Poem by Moonflower
"

Who knew

"

And my god, what a day to be alive

Lets break some glass

and watch the light dance

in the beams

Illuminating my darkness

Rainbow prisms

is that the color of my pain

Is that your reflection

outside

Crying in the January rain

I thought I saw a shadow cast

but then it was just my own disdain

cause I knew you'd leave me here

perfectly...

insane

And I'll just remember the contours

of your face

You laughed, off handidly

and flicked a burning

flame

Out into the landscape

And we faded away..

Like the blunt ends of

A winters day

It was gray

Just like the things I say

Like

"Oh, What a day to be alive!"

It's a god damned good day

to be alive

But where are you, where do you hide

but in the tired recesses of my depraved mind

Yeah I'm so lucky to be alive

they say it's better to be lucky than good. but you have the pleasant distinction of being both. this work flows beautifully.

This is wonderful, your words showed what we have to look forward everyday and how beautiful it truely is.

Like a thousand arrows puncturing the heart...as the insanity eats your soul away...the loneliness...the abandon...'Lets break some glass' because you can't take it anymore...and yet the recognition in the last line that life goes on...because it must...and one might as well be grateful to be alive...fantastic!

this gave me chills.. i have always particularly fancied your writing the best on this site. you have this way of just making me say in my head "this is how i need to write, these are the words that need to come from me". you're an inspiration. thank you for changing this world, one heart at a time.
