Lonliness is not a song

 

 

And the Moon that night

it was so bright

Yeah brighter than

it used to be

 

It illuminated

that dark sky

And I just thought

to myself

about all the times

I had spent beneath

Her crying

eyes

 

So when she wailed

so solemnly

I looked up

as if

to see

If my gaze could

reach

her face

 

If for a moment

my words

could embrace

and maybe they

would ease

her pain

 

Yes, I prayed

Because her and I

We're one and the same

 

Yeah on that night

when you were

with me

Standing close beside

and listening

 

Could you have known what

I was thinking

Look at me and see

through

to what I was feeling

 

"Oh no" you said "It cannot be,

that you look up there and watch her weep"

 

And then I sighed, and turned away

only to realize, I had lost her gaze
