Stalemate BanditsA Poem by MoonflowerI wish that I could reach you, seep into some hidden pocket of the mind and really know what you are thinking That delicate silence, smooth lips sealed in permanence I can't feel the warmth of a smile, the tenderness of your skin against my own Where have you been these days of molten sorrow and fleeting aggravations Deciding not to brave the storm, to face these trials and tribulations without my presence close beside you A heart of lead and steel will get you far in this world but I'm not sure if that is what you're looking for Maybe just a clean pair of blue jeans, a few crumpled parchments, a pen behind your ear, safe in the pocket that envelopes your electric current mind I always hoped to hold your simplicity, your stubborn emptiness within my vicinities We're losing touch, letting that ever folding branch snap beneath the force of the wind, if you find this world too frigid and uncomfortable by then... maybe you will turn around and remember that I was standing behind you whenyou walked away, with Folded arms and a shuddering wing span If I asked you to stay for one more night would you tell me no, again? It isn't time to let go, but I think you already have © 2010 MoonflowerFeatured Review
